But to whom does the Father give this grace? Jesus Himself gives the answer, as Luke reports in his Gospel, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and the learned, and You have revealed them to the little ones.Susan Tassone has dedicated her life to helping others become more aware of the importance of praying for the Holy Souls in Purgatory - which is one of the charisms of the Marian Fathers. The Father draws near to us in Jesus and He makes us know the Father He lets us know His inner life. And so, when Philip went to Jesus and said, “show us the Father,” the Lord replies, “Philip, whoever sees me sees the Father.” In fact, the union between them is so great, He is the image of the Father He is the closeness of the Father’s tenderness to us. Only the Son knows the Father Jesus knows the Father.

Here is the face of the Father and here is our truth! “You know Him now and have seen Him” (v.7): to the extent that our life becomes great with Jesus “love that becomes service.” The knowledge of the Father will grow in us and we will rediscover the truth about ourselves.įather, source of Love, transform us into you!

To see Him is to become ourselves! And Jesus tells us that by looking at Him we see the Father, because He lives in the Father and speaks the Father’s words and does what the Father does! Jesus has just finished washing His disciples’ feet. Here is the deep yearning of every person, “of you my heart has said: ‘seek his face'” (Ps 27:8), Seeing God! In seeing God, in seeking His face, we find our truth, because we are made in His image and likeness. Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” (John 14: 7-9a) Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? “ If you know me, then you will also know my Father.įrom now on you do know him and have seen him.” Philip said to him, “Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
